The Devizes Chamber Choir is a mixed amateur choir of 40 to 50 members based in Devizes. We have been performing since 1978. New members are very welcome and may join without an entry audition. 

 

 

 

Dr. Pamela Kempton (right) has been appointed as our new Director of Music and Conductor. Pamela  rehearsed the choir for its Summer Concert at Urchfont Church on the evening of Saturday August 13th 2011. This proved to be very successful .

 

Pamela is  also the Assistant Director of Music for the Swindon Choral Society where she also conducts her own Chorale of 12 to  20 members. An autumn concert with both the DCC and the Swindon Chorale is planned for November. Pamela holds an important post as Head of Research with the National Environment Research Council in Swindon.

 

 

 

 

 

 

Our programme involves at least three concerts a year, although with a new

conductor in charge we may develop in new directions.

  1. A spring concert of standard classical works. 
  2. A summer concert of lighter music - madrigals, spirituals and part songs from Bruckner to the Beatles, and Sullivan to Seiber.
  3. A seasonal Christmas concert. 

 

 

Rehearsals are held in the Sheep 

Street  Baptist Church Hall - opposite Devizes Library - on Tuesday evenings at 7.30 pm during school term time. There is a tea break at 8.30 pm and we finish at 9.30pm.
