A pleasant summer's evening in Urchfont Parish Church was the focus for one hundred and twelve people to hear the inspiring,  uplifting and well sung  summer concert performd by the Devizes Chamber Choir. This was the first concert under our new and inspirational conductor Dr. Pamela Kempton.

Acknowledgements 

 

We are delighted to welcome our new Musical Director Pamela Kempton and look forward very much to working under her baton. Pamela is Deputy Director of the Swindon Choral Society and is a member of the Association of British Choral Directors. We also welcome Tim Hutchings who

regularly fills the role of organist for our performances.

 

Tony Jones provides invaluable service as accompanist at choir rehearsals and tonight performs Debussy’s “En Bateau” for flute.

 

Devizes Chamber Choir is a member of “Making Music”, the National Federation of Music Societies, which represents and supports amateur and semi-professional music groups of all genres throughout the United Kingdom.

 

Music scores are hired from Wiltshire Performing Arts Library.

 

The choir performs at least three concerts a year in Devizes and the surrounding villages. On 26th November we are joining forces with the Swindon Chorale for a concert in Christ Church, Swindon

on behalf of Cruse, the bereavement charity, and our traditional Christmas concert will be on Saturday 3rd December in St John’s Church, Devizes. The choir is always keen to welcome new members. It meets regularly for rehearsals on Tuesday evenings at Sheep Street

Baptist Church, Devizes.
